We are honored that Mimi’s Grand Prix gelding, EA Cygnus, was voted Upper Level Dressage Horse of the Year by readers of Arabian Sport Horse Magazine! This is a lovely tribute to his memory and we are so grateful for all the support. Check out the Feb/Mar edition to read about Cygnus, the deserving nominees and winners in other categories.
There is a special pride in reporting on our client’s successes! Bobbi Bingeman and her AQHA mare, Sparkin Hot Jacke (“Paq”), had an outstanding year in 2013, earning an AQHA Superior Event Horse Award in dressage, a #2 ranking nationally at First Level (Open Division – Bobbi riding) and a #1 ranking nationally at Second Level (Open Division – Mimi riding). Bobbi and Paq also earned their first USDF medal; with a median score of 66.16 at First Level, they are the Adequan/USDF All-Breeds 2013 Reserve Champions! We hope their accomplishments will encourage other stock breed owners to give dressage (classical or Western) a try. They are fantastic ambassadors for both the sport and PRTC, and proof that dressage has benefits for ALL horses.

Mimi has accepted a two-month position as a working student in San Diego, CA with Rebecca Rigdon, a USDF Gold Medalist, breeder of champion Holsteiners and “r” judge who runs her business out of Steffen Peters’ barn, Arroyo del Mar. Rebecca rides with Steffen Peters and is also a student of Olympian Guenter Seidel. We are excited about this important educational opportunity. Watch for Mimi’s blog updates from the warmer climates of Wellington and San Diego!
Mimi Stanley is a recipient of the 2014 Captain Jack Fritz Young Professional Grant! This will be applied toward her attendance at the USDF Young Rider Graduate Program on January 18-19. While it has long been an aspiration of PRTC to help Mimi advance to international competition, the Young Rider Graduate Program is one of several purposeful steps we are taking this year toward that goal. Contact us to find out how you can join our sponsorship team and help make that goal a reality.
Mimi Stanley has been selected to attend the USDF Young Rider Graduate Program in Florida Jan. 18-19. This program is designed to help bridge the gap between promising young riders and international competition. Jan. 20-21, she will attend the FEI Trainers Conference in Wellington, featuring Olympian Steffen Peters and USEF Nat’l Young Dressage Horse Coach Scott Hassler. Both of these events will help bring Mimi closer to her goal of international competition. Please contact us if you would be interested in helping sponsor Mimi at these or other 2014 events.
We are deeply saddened to share with you that Mimi Stanley’s Grand Prix Arabian gelding, EA Cygnus, died in colic surgery at age 23 on Dec. 10. Cygnus has been a part of our family & our top priority for almost 10 years. As Mimi’s teacher & best friend, Cygnus has set the course of her life. We forever are grateful. It is difficult to imagine a world without him. Visit Cygnus’ web page for more information about his amazing career.

PR Rock N Rye, our 2013 colt by Rosenthal and out of our purebred Arabian mare, PR Brandywine, participated in the first-ever North American RPSI Select Foal Online Auction thru Nov. 30, 2013.
Modeled on popular warmblood Select Foal auctions in Germany, each foal in this event was individually evaluated and invited to participate, ensuring a high standard of quality for buyers and an opportunity to view the year’s top warmblood foals and breeding programs. Because Rye was awarded Gold Premium status at his recent RPSI inspection, he was among the Select Foals offered for sale. For more information on Rye, visit his sales page.

PR Captain Hook has been performing so well for us in open dressage. At the recent CSDEA Fall Dressage Championships with Mimi riding, Hook was PSG Champion in a field of 11 competitors and he earned the FEI High Score of the show with a 66.44% on his Intermediare-1 test.
Our Open Barn and Ex-Racehorse Job Fair was a big success! About 50 people attended, Dallas found a great new home with Boyd and Deborah, and all the Bowman TB’s strutted their stuff beautifully. We are grateful for the extensive media coverage: a front page story in the paper, public radio, in-studio promotion on the 103.3 morning show and KFYR-TV!
