Memorial Day Speech – Maj. Gen. C. Emerson Murry

My late father, Maj. Gen. C. Emerson Murry, former North Dakota adjutant general, gave this speech on Memorial Day 2010. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942. He later served with the 17th and 82nd Airborne Infantry Divisions in the European theatre during World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. It’s a fitting tribute to all those who have served to protect our freedoms. –Karla Stanley
