At the first USDF open dressage show of the season for us (in Cheyenne, WY), Mimi’s 6 year old Hanoverian mare, Holeandra, was high score of the show with a 71.800%.
PRTC hosted another Amy Larson clinic May 29 & 30. Nine horses participated with 12 different horse/rider combinations. Most of the riders are showing up a level this year & are working on new skills. There was a common theme of straightness on a bending line especially related to beginning collection, walk/canter transitions & pirouette work. Amy also focused on teaching riders to control the horse’s hind legs with the seat & keeping the vertical line in the rider’s body to eliminate leaning in the horse on bending lines. We really appreciate her eye for detail. She always leaves us with much homework. We are looking for Amy to return for another clinic mid-July. There might be room for another rider or two. Contact us for more information. Auditors are always welcome at no charge. Come join us!
We received a great report from Sylvia, who purchased JC Selena from PRTC. Selena is a lovely Half-Arab pinto mare with lots of experience. After just a couple months of riding together, Sylvia and Selena placed 3rd in Beginning Level Tests B and C at their first dressage show in May. This was Sylvia’s very first horse show! They are aiming for Training Level by the end of the summer and having a great time together.
We have two new HD videos of Gold Medal, Gold Bar, Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer, Mimi Stanley, taken from her recent training with Conrad Schumacher at Tempel Farms in Illinois. Mimi is schooling her 6-year-old Hanoverian mare Holeandra (by Hotline out of a Donnerhall-bred mare) and the 9-year-old Hanoverian/Arabian pinto stallion, Wolkenzorro.
Check out “Arabian Dressage Horse a Record Breaker.” The story about Mimi and Cygnus’ accomplishments has been picked up by Eventing Nation, Horse Racing TV (HRTV) and horsetalk.co.nz, where it broke a viewing record!
Check out “Success with Cygnus,” Mimi’s story of her journey with Cygnus in the April/May issue of Arabian Sport Horse Magazine! It begins on page 66.
The USDF has confirmed our FEI gelding, EA Cygnus+//, has achieved a distinction only one other horse in the country has, earning a prestigious USDF Horse Performance Certificate at EVERY level of dressage – Training through Grand Prix – a feat requiring more than 90 qualifying scores and making Cygnus only the second US dressage horse of any breed to earn this accolade and the first-ever Arabian. Cygnus is also the only Arabian to be awarded the Adequan/USDF Jr/Young Rider Grand Prix Horse of the Year.
Cygnus has completed an astounding 72 USDF Grand Prix tests in his career, making him one of the top 50 dressage horses of all time for number of USDF Grand Prix scores. What a testament to his longevity and the quality of the Arabian Sport Horse. Cyg, who is working better than ever, always gets to do as he wants and he still wants to be a Grand Prix horse. Both age 23, Mimi and Cygnus will continue their FEI partnership in the upcoming show season.
